Still Standing After 1 Year!
Our first wedding anniversary was on Sunday August 24. It's incredible to think that David and i have been married for a year already! It was just a few months ago that we got married, weird. But we're doing pretty good i suppose. About a month ago we moved into our new house in southern AZ. We really love it here, but we are far away from all our family and old friends. We do enjoy having our own home, for instance (as opposed to the apartment) when i measure and hang pictures on the wall i don't have to be disappointed when i have to turn around and take them down 12 months later. I can paint the walls ANY color i desire without having to repaint them white after 12 months. We don't have neighbors running up and down the hall at all hours of the day and night (like when that fight broke out right outside our front door at 3am and we had to call the police). Also having a mortgage is so much better than renting, now our money is an investment :) Hurray!
So when we moved in we had most of our back yard landscaped with rock and trees, flowers and bushes. I'm afraid that due to a new arrival to our family my plants are a bit sad. We got a puppy, Tucker, he's is a chocolate lab and is now 9 1/2 weeks old; he is full of mischief! Yesterday i caught him tearing apart and chewing my plants to bits, i was so mad at him!! He now has a cable that will not allow him to reach the plants. But i feel bad because that's no life for a puppy, to be on a constant cable without sufficient room to play. I just don't know what to do about him, as soon as i let him off he's attacking the plants (which are still quite young and small) usually within an hour. If anyone has suggestions please share them :)
Now for some good news about Tucker. We wanted him to be an outside dog, but after some consideration due to recent experiences with rattlesnakes and such, we decided that we would bring him in at night, and we are trying to crate train him. He knows the word "NO" and usually stops, at least momentarily what he was doing. He knows not to go onto the carpet, he is only allowed in the kitchen, and he does a good job at staying where he is supposed to be without the use of puppy gates. David has been quite dedicated to teaching Tucker how to sit, now the trick is getting him to stay sitting. He is adorable. LOL, when i talk to him he will sometimes cock his head to side and make a high pitched "hmmmm?" sound. It's hilarious :)
I'm frustrated because I've been trying to find somewhere to work, I've applied at a few banks that are local but nothing has come through yet. I like being at home but i would rather be helping bring home the bacon. *sigh. We are doing pretty good we just hadn't expected me to be out of work for this long. It's been a month, which was nice when we were preparing to move and get settled in, but a month is too long.
Anyway in celebration of our wedding anniversary I will upload a few pics to go with this post. Enjoy!
